- CISURFBOARDS.COMBritt Talks Two HappyListen toBritt Merrickand Parker Coffin breakdown CI's latest high performance shortboard model that is the result of working closely with Dane Reynolds for a few years, as well as some feedback later on from Parker, Mikey February and more. Two Happy takes all the speed, flow and maneuverability of the original Happy butimproves upon it dramaticallyby making itmore accessible and user friendly for a broader range of surfers and conditions. Its a very different rise from the Happy and iswhat Dane has been riding for several years now, and the team is really digging how its a super sharp and responsive high performance shortboard that is easy to ride.Dane Reynolds on the two Happy-The Two Happy came from a version of the Happy that I really liked.A fewyears ago, Britt had made mesome hand shapesfor acoupleWSL wild card spots I was givenFiji and J-Bay.With both those waves in mind, the board we were going for had to be super versatile as an all-around shortboard. After some refinements that board became the Happy, and from there Britt made some more tweaks with the rockerand contours, and some changes to the tail block that made the board fasterand looser, which of course led to even better turns. The Two Happy is pretty much just a modern performance shortboard, but with a little bit more moderate rocker profile. Its been working good for me for the past couple of years. When the waves are a bit on the smaller side, which is pretty often where I live, I grab a NeckBeard 2 with Spine-Tek. When the surf gets good in the winter here or when I go on a surf trip, Im grabbing my Two Happy for sure.Mike February on Two Happy-"Yeh Id say that Ive gone from mainly having a variety of performance shortboards in my quiver to having a bunch of alternative boards and just one go-to shortboard model that I know I can always rely on. So, with having just one performance board in my quiver I am trying to avoid getting boxed into a shortboard that goes well in only certain ideal conditions. Id rather have a good all-arounder that I can ride it when its shitty and when its firing. The thing I have to say about Two Happy is that after riding some alternative stuff for a while the transition onto theTwoHappy has been easy. I used to ride the original Happy model with a few adjustments that Britt would make but the Two Happy feels like it has those adjustments in it just as a stock board. Its a little wider tail, and a little less foam in the nose area of the Happy. Its super forgiving but at the same time very responsive. I think its also nice to order a shortboard with a little bit more volume so that its not too knifey. It seems to have volume in the right places, and even though I ride about 29.5L it doesnt feel like it.With added entry rocker and increased double concave, the Two Happy is looser, rolls rail to rail more easily, and carves better in the pocket. Our team describes the board as exceptionally fast, responsive, and under the feet. The fuller rails and wider, thicker tail block provide ease of paddle, ride, and acceleration. To enjoy all of our state-of-the-art shortboard performance design characteristics packed into one easy-to-ride and accessible board, look no further than the Two Happy.Stock Dimensions:58 x 181/4 x 2 3/16 - 24.1L59 x 18 3/8 x 2 1/4 - 25.3L510 x 18 5/8 2 5/16 - 26.7L511" x 18 7/8" x 2 3/8 - 28.2L60 x 19 1/8 x 2 7/16 - 29.7L61 x 19 1/4 x 2 1/2 - 31.1L62 x 19 1/2 x 2 9/16 - 32.7L63 x 19 7/8 x 2 5/8 - 34.5L64 x 20 1/8 x 2 3/4 - 37.1LLearn more or order a custom here:https://cisurfboards.com/products/two-happySurfers in this video included in this video are Dane Reynolds, Bobby Martinez, Eithan Osborne, Parker Coffin, Luke Swanson,Eimeo Czermak, Pat Gudauskas, Yadin Nicol, Tanner Gudauskas, Sebastian Zietz, Cory ArrambideEdited by Alex Kilauano. - CISURFBOARDS.COM2 to 20: with Cliff Kapono EP1 Happy TravelerIn this premiere episode of 2 to 20: with Cliff Kapono, our host walks viewers through his experience on riding the Happy Traveler, a versatile step-up board designed by Britt Merrick that addresses the needs for an all-in-one travel board.Whether at home or traveling abroad, we need equipment that will match the demands of the conditions. We typically feel good about what to pull out of the bag when its small-to-average sized surf, because for most of us thats our daily reality. But when it gets bigger, to a lot bigger, were not always prepared and can feel caught off guard. That's why you need to be at-the-ready with a board you can trust in the larger stuff, so you can position yourself to catch and properly ride the best waves of your life. Those kind of boards are called "step-ups" and we're stoked to unveil to you our newest one by Britt Merrick called the Happy Traveler. The Happy Traveler takes the proven rocker curve of the Happy and tunes it for pumping surf, where you need to be able to control and harness speed rather than merely create it. The Travelers decreased concave between the fins, straighter pulled in outline in the back third, and leading fins placement closer to the rail optimize hold and control in quality surf. This allows you to surf with more confidence and freedom as you are more connected to and seated in the wave face. When all the work is done, youll be thinking less and feeling more as you surf epic conditions right at home, up the coast or further abroad. When the waves are good you need to have confidence that you will get in over the ledge. The Happy Traveler maximizes your paddling power with more thickness carried in the forward deck and rail, and a fuller outline in the front third of the board. When the opportunity arises, you can be sure these same characteristics make the board perform exceptionally well in the barrel. The Happy Traveler is not just a wave catcher or stable platform for the barrel, its Happy rocker still allows you to do big open face turns at full speed. If the swell drops, the same rocker still gets the job done and proves this board is CIs most versatile step-up design to date. The Traveler comes standard with a round pin and can be set up and ridden as a thruster or quad.
